Fastnacht - Shove Tuesday (the Tuesday before Lent)
Rosenmontag - the Monday before Lent
Wegzoll - a toll charged by children on minor roads by holding a rope across them
Luftschlange - (paper) streamer
Maskenball - masked ball
Girlande - paper chain
Maultasche - large pasta ravioli-like pockets filled with meat and spinach
Müllauto - dustcart, garbage truck
Faschingsmuffel - someone who doesn’t celebrate Carnival
Alles ist erlaubt - anything goes (lit. everything is allowed)
